Speaker: Jason Haag
Date: Thursday, October 26th
Time: 10:45AM PDT
Location/Room: 408
Description: Many development efforts often start with only a basic understanding of xAPI and rush into implementing it without thinking about how the data will be evaluated later on. In this session you’ll learn how to identify simple measures that will directly support your evaluation, reporting, and analytics goals. You’ll explore how you can leverage existing frameworks such as the Kirkpatrick Model to lay the foundation for your evaluation strategy. You’ll also gain understanding of how to easily identify the reasons for measuring so it can drive the associated reporting requirements and analytics. Next, you’ll explore the types of measures that can be used for efficiency/utilization metrics, learning effectiveness, and business impact. You’ll connect the dots by seeing real-world examples of how align reporting goals and measures with specific xAPI data collection requirements. Finally, you’ll then see how those translate into useful visualizations and dashboards by seeing really insightful charts, graphs, and dashboards of the data. You’ll leave this session with new insights on how to make an impact on your business or mission objectives by more strategically planning and implementing xAPI with this approach.
